Reta Underwood is a senior elder and on her journey to 3rd Degree Midewiwin and is an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa. She is a storyteller and a traditional crafter, including beadwork and spirit (zaka’on) sticks. Her mission is to make known to the inhabitants of Turtle Island the Anishinaabeg way of life as the “good hearted” people, and to tell the story of who they were prior to colonization and how they exist today.
